The final weekend in September begins the true countdown to Halloween, and Marshall will be decking the downtown area with skeletons as they celebrate Skeleton Fest. Skeleton Fest begins Friday, September 27th, as they'll have over 30 life size skeletons, in various themes placed around the downtown area. There is a kick-off party to celebrate their return from 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. the next day (Saturday, September 28 this year) and it is a free, family friendly event with a live band, face painting, balloon twisting, games and free handouts along with food for purchase.

Going forward from 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. there is a Pub & Grub crawl at participating restaurants( to be named soon), bars and pubs featuring  special themed drinks and/or food items at a reduced cost. The skeletons stay up throughout the month of October and people are encouraged to take selfies with them and post and tag them onto the Marshall Skeleton Fest Facebook so everyone can enjoy the fun.
