A California woman recently found out that TV shows that depict people in survival situations are just television shows and that they can lead to serious danger.

Recently, there is a 36-year-old woman who was taking part in a YouTube outdoor survival contest in the Pigeon River Forest in Charlton Township in Michigan. The California woman at one point ended up becoming lost.

Apparently, what happened was that as she left the camp that she and other contestants had set up, she went to search for water.

She didn’t come back, so other contestants started to get concerned. When they couldn’t find themselves, that’s when they reached out to the authorities, as the Otsego County sheriff's office commented:

After unsuccessful attempts to locate her, 911 was contacted at approximately 0500 hours today, September 6, 2025. A coordinated search effort was immediately initiated. At approximately 1040 hours, the Michigan State Police Helicopter located the missing female deep within a swampy area. The female was missing in the cold and rain for almost 18 hours. Ground officers were guided to her location with the assistance of the helicopter crew.

There were people in the comment section of a post by WDIV in Detroit who are cooking her, calling for her to foot some of the responsibility:

The biggest challenge she’s ever had to face was probably because Starbucks got her order wrong. Hopefully, she now stays in California after she pays this bill. Or at least half and the people who put on this “challenge” can pay the other half.
