All of Notre Dame College (in Ohio) Is For Sale, and You Could Buy It
I've seen some crazy places for sale in the past. Schools, factories, and even missile silos turned into homes for someone to live in, legitimately. And for the most part, they might look a little strange on the outside, but inside, some really interesting choices have made them cool places to live. Also, they're usually REALLY big spaces... but not this big.
Right now, in Ohio, there is an entire University Campus for sale. Not just one of the buildings, but the ENTIRE CAMPUS of Notre Dame College (not that one) in South Euclid, Ohio is listed for sale, and could potentially be your new home... complex.
Notre Dame College in South Euclid, Ohio - not to be confused with Notre Dame University in South Bend, Indiana - announced in February, that after 100 years of being open, and offering Higher Education for students in the greater Cleveland, Ohio area, they would be closing their doors following the Spring Semester.
Now, the University is going full fire-sale and listing the entire 50-acre campus for sale, including all of the amenities in and around the campus. This includes what's left behind in classrooms, offices, and even dormitories.
The listing shows 14 total buildings on the campus: five dormitories, a former high school, a library, café, classroom/office properties, various athletic facilities (full football stadium, baseball/softball field, soccer field, etc.), and a 25-yard pool.

Now here's the catch, we've seen some homes listed for up to $10 million, which usually comes with a significant amount of property as well. But again, that's typically for one house, MAYBE a guest house, or carriage house, and a few dozen acres.
ALL of Notre Dame College, on 50 acres of property, and 14 buildings, is being listed for just $30.7 million.
Now, unfortunately, because this isn't just a residential property, the way to go about purchasing the old college is a little more complex, and the Euclid City Council expressed specific interest in it remaining a higher-education facility. It would require they go through the city's conditional use approval for any rezoning, along with a public meeting to solicit from residents on what action to take.
But say you're a charismatic guy, who has lots of friends, and maybe wanted to turn this into a musical learning facility... where artists and students could stay in the dorms, get some rec time in the football stadium and baseball fields, then perform in the Fine Arts Center Hall?
Also, I'm pretty sure if you own it, you could convert one building entirely for yourself to live in. Just perpetually live like you were in college for the rest of your life? I'm down. So quick inquiry... anyone out there got $29,999,500 I could borrow?
And just in case you need just a LITTLE more to sell you on it, here's a tour of the campus from a video made a few years ago by the University.
