Michigan Nerds Found A Link Between M59 Exit & Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy
Michigan is known for many things but the unique town names we have throughout. The state has always jumped out to me. Places like Christmas, Hell, Paradise, and Kalamazoo are all unique in their own right. And what is most likely the most popular exit off of any highway is in Troy Michigan off of Exit 69 which goes to Big Beaver Road. What’s funny is there used to be a Hooters located right off of Exit 69 off Big Beaver Road. But I digress…

In Douglas Adams' The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, 42 is the number from which all meaning ("the meaning of life, the universe, and everything") can be derived. It is also a subroutine programming code when initiated closes the main program. Since a person is choosing exit 42 on I-75 it also means you are leaving the main program > I-75.
So there ya go. Exit 42 on I-75 is directly linked to this classic novel and Rochester Hills is the wormhole to carry you through.
