We recently learned of the closing of Godfather‘s Pizza, which has been around since 1989 and has been a staple of Kalamazoo since it was opened. The company announced it was due to the death of the owner and has plans to close halfway through December.

Unfortunately the same can now be said about Elements in the Vine Neighborhood, which is a holistic healing store located off of Forest Street and South Westnedge in Kalamazoo.

Back in mid-September, they posted about the fact that they were facing eviction and a possible closure and unfortunately, it looks as though they will have to close, according to a post that the owner DeeDee made recently:

Trouble Since Takeover

DeeDee took over ownership of Elements back in March and struggled with the big downturn in business because of inflation and of course, with post-pandemic issues, on top of being a single mother to three children with special needs up until now, she was also serving as a volunteer for a food bank in Marcellus.

What's Next For The Owner?

 

There’s no word yet as to what her plans are going forward, but unfortunately, this little shop will be coming to a close, and we wish her all the best with her next path in life.

That location at 4456 Forest St. is a little off the beaten path and has struggled to hold business in recent years.
