Babe Ruth is one of the most recognizable names in baseball history, and throughout his career, his most Memorable accomplishment in Detroit was hitting the second-longest home run in Tiger Stadium history, which happened in 1926 when he had a 626-foot home run.
That’s the second-longest home run behind Mickey Mantle’s 1960 home run, which traveled 643 feet. But Babe Ruth didn’t just hit home runs in Detroit; he actually enjoyed partying there as well.

A photo recently surfaced, which you can see below, shows Babe Ruth along with the Tigers’ slugger Harry Heilmann, partying in the basement of a house, which still stands today at 13359 Hubble St. in Detroit.

As usual, Ruth is in the center of the action. Detroit Tigers slugger Harry Heilmann can be seen on the far right, hiding his face from the camera. The bottom photo was taken over two years ago by Babe Ruth Birthday Party founder and host Tom Derry. Tom’s longtime friend Pat Moug is posing with his Babe face and a beer stein in front of the house at 13359 Hubbell Street. The house was owned by Alfred Tegne and was built in 1927.

There's no doubt The Babe called his shot in this basement at some point, and it was probably a strong whiskey.

You Can Party With Babe Ruth & Harry Heilmann's Descendants

Strangely enough, descendants of both Babe Ruth and Harry Heilmann will be gathering soon for the Babe Ruth Birthday Party.

Babe Ruth's grandson, Tom Stevens, and great-grandson Brent Stevens will be celebrating along with Harry Heilmann’s grandson Dan Heilmann at Nemo’s Bar on Saturday, February 7th at 7:14 pm at Nemo’s Bar, located at 1384 Michigan Avenue in Detroit.
