And so begins begins another Summer season of fun in the sun.  Oh...Wait a minute...Before the fun and sun, we'll have to take the necessary steps to make sure everybody with us is following the correct protocol to insure...

I'm sorry but I have to admit that I'm getting to the point where I'm going to have to check myself before I wreck myself.  Don't get me wrong, I truly believe we have to take the necessary precautions to stay safe from the virus but it's just so much right now.  Maybe at some point, before there's a cure or vaccine, we'll have gotten used to the process like always putting on a seat belt.  If only it was that quick and easy.

So here we are.  WE'RE OUT!  We've paid the necessary price.  The weather is nice and we want to reward ourselves with something that is so definitively Michigan...Heading to the beach or the pool.  Not so fast.  We've got to go over the "List"!

The CDC recently passed along some items that might be applicable to us here in S.W. Michigan.  The obvious first question is: How safe is the water?  Right now there is no evidence that the virus can be spread in a lake or a pool but you should still social distance from others since it's mostly airborne.

Next we have to worry about surfaces.  Johns Hopkins tells us that the virus doesn't survive well on soft surfaces like fabric but on harder surfaces like pool gates or table umbrella cranks so we should get out the wipes and do our thing.  And don't forget the the things we rent or share with others like lounge chairs and life jackets.

Once you've exhausted all the items on your safe list, have fun for crying out loud!
