The news came down this afternoon. Governor Whitmer did an executive act, and gyms in Michigan will reopen on Wednesday, September 9th..

There it is.

Now what?

I have to tell you, nobody needs some exercise more than me. I tried back in March and April, but it's hard to stay disciplined, in an apartment, and really stay with it. I don't run anymore. Because of playing sports when I was a youth, my knees are shot. But I can do ellipticals, and, can do the weight machines. In fact, what I've missed most is the cardio from the elliptical.

But after watching all that's happened in the past six months, I have to tell you. I'm a bit scared, and yes, maybe a bit paranoid, not that there's any wrong with that, as Jerry Seinfeld would say.

Even at 25% capacity, with masks and gallons of hand sanitizer, that first trip back through the doors of my gym is going to be difficult. We went out last night and met up with some friends, for the first time, indoors, at a restaurant.  Here's the tough part: One of the group wanted to shake hands. I don't want to be rude, but I really don't want to shake hands with anyone.

At some point, I have to make a decision. I see where Dr. Fauci thinks there maybe a vaccine soon. Do I wait for that, with no real guarantee yet, that it will be effective, or do I take a chance and hope for the best?  I'm guessing I'm not the only one feeling this way.
