This week our Small Michigan Town series stops in a small town that boarders Indiana.  Niles, MI.

Niles is one of the larger of the small towns we've featuring in this series with an estimated 11,208 residents according to Wikipedia.

#5.  The Ready 4 Theatre

This movie theatre was originally opened in 1927.  According to Cinema Treasures the theatre was later operated by Paramount Pictures in the 1940's.  Many generations have seen block buster movies in this historic building.  A renovation is now taking place and will reopen as a live theatre venue.

#4.  Hometown of Tommy James and the Shondells

Tommy James and the Shondells had 32 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 in the 60's, 8 top 10's and two #1 hits.  Tommy James and his family moved to Niles when he was 11 according to Michigan Rock and Roll Legends.

#1.  Niles Scream Park

About 90% of the people that responded to our question about their favorite thing in Niles was Niles Scream Park.  Apparently, Southwest Michigan (actually in this area it's Michiana) loves to have the pee scared out of them.

One of the biggest haunted attractions in all of Michigan can be found at 855 Mayflower Rd, Niles, MI.
