Real Men Skate on Lavender Ice The Kalamazoo Wings have announced that for the first time in team history, the K-Wings will play a game on Lavender Ice in partnership with the NHL's “Hockey Fights Cancer” campaign!

According to Wikipedia the campaign  Hockey Fights Cancer is a charitable initiative of the US and Canadian National Hockey League (NHL) and the National Hockey League Players Association (NHLPA) dedicated to raising money and awareness toward cancer research. It was founded in 1998 as an outgrowth of a similar program instituted by the Tampa Bay Lightning after former player John Cullen made a brief NHL comeback after suffering from non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

Over the years Hockey Fights Cancer has raised millions of dollars to help those diagnosed with this awful disease that effects so many of us!

It is so wonderful that our K-Wings are helping in the fight against cancer, by creating a special night for fans!

Tonight the Kalamazoo Wings will be  hosting the Cincinnati Cyclones at 7:00 p.m. and all fans are encouraged to wear lavender.
