A highly contagious illness has affected students and staff at Ohio schools. Numerous call-ins have led school officials to shut down schools completely.
Whether it's an epidemic or not isn't the point. The spread of flu over the area is shutting schools down and the Kalamazoo Public Schools is the largest system so far.
Fall is officially here but forecasts calling for near-record high temperatures again on Monday have resulted in several Kalamazoo area schools dismissing students after a half day of classes.
