It seems that VerHage Cider Mill and Farm Fans, Husted Farms and other Oshtemo Township farmers are in fear of losing out on free events that they enjoy providing for the community, according to a recent post on Facebook. The post shows a notice that was given to the Cider Mill about new rules and regulations on the number of events they're allowed to put on every year.

One resident even believes it's the local residents who live near these establishments who are complaining about noise and/or traffic. A meeting is being held next week, and the cider mill needs the communities support, otherwise they may lose the ability to put on special events. They elaborate on the seriousness of the issue:  "Please come to support us and tell the township to back down from trying to make more rules for us to operate. We appreciate any of you who can come and support us! To be clear items like Trunk or Treat are in jeopardy here and FREE VINTAGE MARKETS!! THEY WANT TO LIMIT WHAT WE CAN DO ON OUR FARM! These are our Free Events!! Without your support we will have to eliminate many of our Free Events! Thank you!" The meeting starts at 6 p.m., however 7:00 p.m. should be fine for community members arrival. The address is 7275 West Main Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49009 near Oshtemo Twp Library.
