Matchbox Twenty has announced that the show that was to be held last year at DTE Energy Music Theatre in Clarkston, MI on September 1, 2020 has been rescheduled for August 29, 2021. As for now it looks like the show is back on track and hopefully won't need to be rescheduled once again. Tickets for the previously scheduled date will be honored at the new date, for those who purchased them the first time around. Joining Matchbox Twenty at the show will be The Wallflowers.

Matchbox Twenty is Kyle Cook, Paul Doucette, Rob Thomas, and Brian Yale. The group has sold over 40 million records worldwide, and earned multiple chart-topping singles, countless accolades, including five Grammy® nominations, four American Music Award nods, and the 2004 People's Choice Award for "Favorite Musical Group."

The last time Matchbox Twenty came to Kalamazoo was back in 2013 when they brought the house down at Miller Auditorium. Those in attendance recall it being a particularly special night, as sing Rob Thomas had some fun with the city name:

Of all the city's we've played, Kalamazoo is the most fun to say

There was even a moment during their set that Rob Thomas grabbed the phone of a woman in the front row and began to film each member of the band before busting into So Sad So Lonely, and record the guitar solo before handing the phone back to her. They've even played the Wings Event Center back in the late 90's. This is a hopeful sign that maybe concerts are on their way back.
