Kelly Clarkson Reveals She Was Mistaken for ‘Seat Filler’ at an Awards Show
In a case of mistaken identity, pop vocal powerhouse Kelly Clarkson was thought to be a seat-filler at the 2019 Academy of Country Music Awards, where she performed duets with country star Jason Aldean and duo Dan + Shay on Sunday (April 7).
Clarkson wrote about the awkward encounter on Twitter, sharing, “The greatest thing by far that happened to me tonight was being asked to move because some guy thought I was a seat filler at the ACM’s tonight. Literally, it made my night because he was so serious, and I just politely said no hahaha!!”
The question remains: Who doesn't know who Clarkson is? She won the first season of American Idol, is a judge on NBC's The Voice, has acted in a number of roles, and is even getting her own talk show later this year.
Clarkson just wrapped up her Meaning of Life Tour with Kelsea Ballerini and her Voice men-tee Brynn Cartelli.
Clarkson is also starring in the upcoming Ugly Dolls movie alongside Nick Jonas, Janelle Monae, fellow Voice judge Blake Shelton, Pitbull, Bebe Rexha and Charli XCX among others. She also contributed to the soundtrack for the film on a new original song called "Broken & Beautiful," which is out now.
