A New Bar Is Taking Over The Old Union Building
With the passing of one business, another must arise from the ashes, which is exactly what is happening at the old Union building in downtown Kalamazoo, located in the Kalamazoo Mall.
The owner of Kalamazoo Beer Exchange is opening up a brand new bar called the Old Skool Bar, and we know very little to nothing about it.

The only thing that they have posted on their social media is a video that shows friends playing pool on a game on their phone, which then transitions to playing pool inside of a bar:
Whether it’s the bar located at 125 S. Kalamazoo Mall, where the bar is going to be at, we have no idea. But one person in the comment section claims that they plan on opening on January 5, which falls on a Monday. So we will have to keep an eye on their Facebook page for more info on what we can expect from this new bar.
Last week, we got the unfortunate news that after 15 years, the Kalamazoo Beer Exchange would be closing its doors permanently at the end of the day on Saturday, December 21.
They made a heartfelt goodbye on their Facebook page, thanking the community for all the support over the years:
After 15 wonderful years, we are sad to announce that this weekend will be our last. We invite you to join us in raising a glass one final time as we celebrate the moments, memories, and community we love so much. We extend our heartfelt thanks to our fantastic staff for their dedication and hard work over the years, as well as to all our regulars, friends, and family, whose support has helped make the Beer Exchange truly one of a kind.
