Haunted Scare Affair Returns To Leila Arboretum With New Pet Costume Parade
The Haunted Scare Affair is once again returning to the Leila Arboretum on October 15 from 8 PM to 11 PM and October 16 and 17th from 8 PM to midnight in Battle Creek.
What A Do Theatre, located in Battle Creek and made up of multi-age performing artists, will be hosting the Halloween event, and this year they have made a couple of different changes.

This year they’re adding a furry addition to the fun, and they are allowing guests to bring pets out for a costume pet parade on October 15 from 630 to 8 o’clock, with a chance to win prizes for only a $10 entry fee. Tickets are $12 in cash only at the gate, and the event is rain or shine, so tickets are nonrefundable.
As somebody who has never attended this event before, there was one major issue I am having trouble with the information that has been provided on their Facebook page:
I have no idea what this event even is.
They are very performative in their delivery of the news that this event is happening, but they are not very direct in what actually happens at the event. I’m not sure if this is a haunted walk-through or just a fun spooky gathering.
As far as I can tell it, maybe some kind of haunted attraction that they set up that you work your way through, but they may be able to provide more information soon on their Facebook page.
The only thing that the poster states is that horror movie rules they suggest visitors follow. As far as I can tell, it’s going to be some kind of haunted attraction that is going to be themed after iconic horror movies, according to the event site:
Horror movies. You love to watch them…but what happens when you’re in them? Battle Creek, do you wanna play a game with us…? We want to know: what will you do when the danger is just one. single. breath. away? Scare Affair is back at it again this year and it turns out our favorite thing to watch is you…screaming in terror. We don’t really find it that scary, though…turns out we’re more into comedy.
