Guy Fieri is like the Nickelback of the Food World - People Love to Hate on him because it's the popular thing to do, but deep down, you KNOW he's awesome, and you wish you were as cool as him.

I love him. I love Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. He talks to "my people," and showcases foods that I legitimately have a road-trip list to go visit. But there's one problem with that list... NONE of his Triple-D landing spots are in Kalamazoo! Why?

Guy Fieri has visited most of Michigan's major cities - Detroit, Ann Arbor, Flint, Lansing... actually, he's spent a LOT of time in Lansing - which is FINE, since Lansing does have a fun food scene. It's also the Michigan State Capitol, so there's a lot of clout there.

The Mayor of Flavortown has even visited some of the smaller places in the state - Clarkston, Okemos, Hamtramck, Webberville, Potterville. And I realize a few of those are suburbs to Detroit, but they ARE small communities, nonetheless.

So WHY, then, has he NOT come to the west side of the state, to one of the most notable cities, and recognizable names in the State of Michigan?

There's plenty for him here. FAR more than a Joe's Gizzard City in Potterville, or The Fly Trap in Ferndale. Not that those aren't great places, but I feel like Kalamazoo has the Goods for a visit from the Mayor of Flavortown.

But yet... he avoids us. He's been to at LEAST a dozen spots in Lansing, and just as many in the small communities dotted around Detroit. Why not take a visit out in the western part of the state?

But where would he go? I'm glad you asked...

Restaurants Guy Fieri Should Visit in Kalamazoo

It's unclear as to why, but Guy Fieri has never made the trip into Western Michigan to try our food. So here's a list of some of the best spots in Kalamazoo for the Mayor of Flavortown to try out if he ever makes the trip.
