Dozens Of Vendors Say They’re Out Hundreds After Holt Halloween Event Canceled
Dozens of vendors are claiming they have been scammed by the owner of Sweet's Vendors Events, Ami Leonard, after they say a Halloween-themed event called Boo Bash that was supposed to take place in Holt, Michigan, over the weekend had been canceled, and the Organizer was nowhere to be found, and communication has been spotty and unreliable.
One search for the Boo Bash Vendor Show on Facebook will show a vast amount of Facebook posts from different vendors claiming the event was a scam.

Many vendors showed up to Washington Woods Middle School in Holt in preparation for a Halloween-themed vendor show only to find out that not only was there no show taking place, but allegedly there were never any permits or permissions granted for the event to be held there in the first place by Holt Public Schools.
The Facebook posts can be a bit overwhelming considering the volume is high, but screenshots show that the event organizer had allegedly suffered an extremely sad and immediate family emergency and could not be at the event, and her event page claimed that refunds would be going out.
They claimed they were having a hard time keeping up with all the calls, text messages, and messages on their Facebook, which seems to have been removed publicly.
Sarah Lynn Crips, the owner of Sarah Lynn’s Cookies and Crumbs, told WLNS how she was tricked into spending more money upfront for the illusion of being included in multiple events for less money:
It was my understanding when I spoke with her that it was $55 for each event. So it’d be $110 if you did both. But if you paid up front, it would be $100. And she said there was one spot. So I went ahead, paid the $100. It’s not just about the product that we didn’t sell or the loss of the $100 that we paid or 65, we’re all paying different amounts. But it’s just, it’s about the principle of the fact, of all that we lost out.
