A nutritionist says a slice of pizza in the morning is far better for you than Raisin Bran or other "healthy" cereals.

New York based nutritionist, Chelsey Amer tells TheDailyMeal.com that Pizza has about the same calories, less sugar and more protein than your average bowl of cereal with whole milk.  Kellogg's can't be pleased with this info.

It's important to mention that Amer isn't suggesting you eat pizza for breakfast either,

...pizza isn’t a health food per say; it’s certainly not your most nutritious option. But when compared with a quickly poured bowl of sugar flakes, it’s a more balanced meal.

OK, if Capt Crunch is off my morning menu and I'm not a college student eating left over cold pizza in the morning, what should I eat?

Health.com lists the 20 best foods to eat for breakfast.  That list includes: Oatmeal, Greek Yogurt and berries like blueberries and strawberries.  Get the full list by clicking here.

Circling back to the pizza for breakfast idea.  One thing this nutritionist missed is the beverage.  Think about what you drink with pizza.  I'm guessing it's not water.  I have a feeling that completely changes the calorie and sugar count.  I think Kellogg's can relax.
