Gas prices are on the rise, so save your cash and fill up now

So far this past year we here in Michigan have enjoyed gas prices being reasonable. Yet, we should not get to comfortable with the extra cash in our pockets because we may be seeing a spike in gas prices.

Mlive reported that according to GasBuddy

The average regular/unleaded gas price in Michigan is at $2.85 a gallon as of Wednesday afternoon. In metro Detroit, prices for gas is between $2.80 and $2.90. At least 16 counties, five in the Upper Peninsula, are averaging $2.91 or more.

Patrick DeHaan, head of petroleum analysis at Boston-based company GasBuddy tweeted that information just a day ago and it makes me worry that we will step back in time. It was back in 2008 that Michiganders saw gas prices soar up to just under $5.00 a gallon. I have been enjoying the cheap gas prices, and wish I could figure out a way to stock up on gas. Until then I suppose we just have to deal with the spike in cost.
