You just knew that $2.28 a gallon was too good to be true. A leaky pipe at a refinery in northern Indiana has gas prices up .30 cents a gallon now and maybe a dollar a gallon in a few weeks.

The Detroit News reports the repairs may take a month. The reason for the price hike, officially, is it's the biggest refinery (in Whiting, IN) and it's the most important part in the plant.

All of a sudden, cars like the Chevy Volt and Nissan Leaf are so frivolous.
