It's always make me angry, whenever Tim Allen's name comes up on Kalamazoo-related social media, because there's always one or two, or many, that immediately mention his drug bust at Kalamazoo/Battle Creek Airport.

It all began for Tim Allen in Kalamazoo, in so many ways. The native Michigander went to school at WMU, and then after going into stand up comedy, filmed a special "Men Are Pigs" for Showtime at the State Theatre, that eventually became the basis for his long running sitcom, Home Improvement.

Despite being based in the Detroit area and starring Pure Michigander and WMU alumni Tim Allen, Home Improvement is not considered Michigan's favorite sitcom from the 1990s.
