I love going to the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes whenever I can. I do not, however like charges that go along with it. I know it goes into conserving the park but it's about to get even more expensive to get into the dunes. Upnorthlive.com reports the recent increase in entrance fees noting the following changes:

  • Park Entrance Pass- Per Private Vehicle - Current: $20/New: $25
  • Park Entrance Pass- Motorcycle - Current: $15/New: $20
  • Sleeping Bear Dunes Annual Park Entrance Pass - Current: $40/New: $45
  • Per Person Entrance Pass - Current: $10/New: $15

Back in April, the National Park Services (NPS) announced that as part of the continuous effort to fix aging park infrastructure and improve visitor experiences, entrance fees at 117 of the NPS sites across the United States would be increasing by $5, and Michigan's Sleeping Bear was no exception. Starting January 1, the $5 increase will go into effect. At least we know the increase in admission will be going towards many great causes.
