Mark’s Picks: Top 3 Post-Tiger King Shows You Should Binge Watch
By now I imagine everybody has seen or is currently watching the Netflix show, Tiger King. If you haven't, seriously, what the trash are you waiting for? It's pure insanity. But for those of you who have finished and are recovering from that madness that was that show, allow me to offer you my personal Top 3 shows you should binge watch next:
1. TURN: Washington Spies- As a history nut, I was instantly hooked on this show. I first started watching it when I first moved to Kalamazoo in late 2017 when the show had ended. The show runs 4 seasons with 40 episodes. It's based on The Culper Ring, which was a spy ring organized by Major Benjamin Tallmadge under orders from General George Washington in the summer of 1778, during the British occupation of New York City at the height of the American Revolutionary War. This spy ring wasn't made aware to the public until 1930. This series is gonna have you hooked.
2. Ozark- I've been haring a lot of people talk about this show and so I started it last night. Already I can tell this is gonna be an awesome series. Jason Bateman as Marty Byrde, a financial planner who relocates his family from Chicago to a summer resort community in the Ozarks. With wife Wendy and their two kids in tow, Marty is on the move after a money-laundering scheme goes wrong, forcing him to pay off a substantial debt to a Mexican drug lord in order to keep his family safe.
3. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina- If you're a fan of the Riverdale series, this is the perfect answer. Based in the same world, this adaptation of the "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" tale is a dark coming-of-age story that traffics in horror and the occult. In the reimagined origin story, Sabrina Spellman wrestles to reconcile her dual nature -- half-witch, half-mortal -- while standing against the evil forces that threaten her, her family -- including aunts Hilda and Zelda -- and the daylight world humans inhabit.
