Kalamazoo Public Schools officials have cancelled classes at Loy Norrix High School on Monday after a threat was made on social media to "harm" the school.

In a statement release late Sunday evening, KPS said,

This evening, Nkenge Bergan, director of student services for Kalamazoo Public Schools, issued the following statement to families: The safety and security of our students are very important to us.This evening we became aware that someone made a threat on social media to harm Loy Norrix High School.Since receiving the information, we have been in contact with Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety.The threat is being investigated to determine credibility. As a precaution, we are closing Loy Norrix High School tomorrow, Monday, Nov. 11. We will provide additional information as it becomes available. If anyone has any information regarding who may have posted this threat, please contact KDPS immediately.
