Kalamazoo Public Schools officials began contacting families today, of elementary and middle school students about a Chrome Book loaner program that will begin Friday, April 24th.

In a release this evening, KPS says,

Parents must sign waivers to receive the loaner devices and the loaned Chromebooks must be returned in the same condition. The waivers and specific elementary and middle school distribution plans are found at the KPS website: If parents do not bring a completed waiver to the school when picking up the device, they will be asked to bring their own ink pen to complete the form. Parents can pick up the devices without their student present.Schools will adhere to all social distancing guidelines during the distribution process, and no one will be allowed to exit their vehicle. - Kalamazoo Public Schools

With school closed not only throughout the state, but also nationwide, online education has put a stress on economically challenged families.
