Jordan Klepper Goes Full Alex Jones With ‘The Opposition’ Spinoff Trailer
Is Jordan Klepper the next Stephen Colbert? That’s certainly a question the new Daily Show companion series The Opposition With Jordan Klepper seeks to answer, along with a host of other conspiracies. See for yourself in a first teaser, along with correspondent news.
Comedy Central released a first promo for the new September series, as former correspondent Klepper does his best Alex Jones with a string of InfoWars-worthy nonsense. Deadline also reports that UCB alum Josh Sharp, Aaron Jackson and Laura Grey will serve as correspondents, along with Second City players Kobi Libii and Tim Baltz.
The Opposition With Jordan Klepper will debut behind The Daily Show on Monday, September 25, while the synopsis reads:
The Opposition with Jordan Klepper will satirize the hyperbolic, conspiracy-laden noise machine that is the alternative-media landscape on both the right and left. The Opposition is the voice of the new America. It is the America that defines its own reality. It’s the America of paid protestors, Obama’s birth certificate, and the certainty that CNN is fake news.
The series is executive produced by Jordan Klepper, Stuart Miller and Trevor Noah, with Kim Gamble and Ian Berger as co-executive producers and Owen Parsons as head writer. We’ll see more in September, but what do we make of the Nightly Show replacement?
