As of the last few years, TikToker Keith Lee has made a name for himself on the video-based platform for his content centered around food nationwide. He used recommendations from his comment section, social media, and Google reviews to decide on the places he should try next. He also receives a lot of messages from restaurants to review their food. Although he gained popularity after leaving the city he never forgets the city where it all began, Detroit.

He's become so famous that he doesn't even walk into places, he sends his sister so that it remains anonymous and he can give a legitimate rating. He tries many different food items from each menu, gives a customer service and food rating on a scale from 1-10, and provides commentary during his videos. Enough about that, it's time to talk about where it all started.

While scrolling through Facebook earlier today I came across the post below, showcasing the famous TikTok star in some familiar faces. After reading through the post and swiping through the pictures it was clear that he was from Detroit, Michigan, and had returned home for a special trip. After moving to the West Coast, he hadn't been home often.

He does have a wife and two children as well, and he mentions how much it meant to him to share a part of his childhood and upbringing with his family. I would assume that Detroit helped inspire his idea of being a food critic as there are tons of great food places for him to try in Motown.

Check out a few of his videos above as his TikTok page is flooded with some of the best restaurants in all of the United States. One video is from Detroit and the other is from Miami but he has traveled all over the country for various reasons and makes sure to try as many different places as he can. While here in Detroit he did try some new places while also smashing on old classics.

Inside Martin's Iconic Detroit Apartment Building

Remember Martin? The iconic building that served as the backdrop for the series is on the National Registry of Historic Places, thanks to its use in the show.

Although the show was filmed in Los Angeles, Detroit played an important role in the sitcom.
