Detroit’s Last Call Could Be As Late As 4 am
Your parents were wrong when they said nothing good happens after 2 am.
Here is something good that could happen late at night or early morning (however you look at it). According to the Detroit Free Press a new bill has been introduced to the Michigan Legislative...
Last call at bars in Detroit's central business district would be extended to 4 a.m. on weekends and holidays under the bill, which was hailed as a way for Detroit to compete with other states.
Detroit's central business is obviously in the downtown area and surrounded by sporting, concert and performance venues. By allowing local restaurants and bars to serve alcohol until 4 am, more revenue will come into the city.
Most major cities with convention centers and central district allow restaurants and bars to serve spirts until the wee hours of the morning. By passing this legislation it would keep the Detroit area competitive with other major cities business districts.
But don't get too excited, most restaurants and bar that are able to stay open until 2 am, don't because the foot traffic is so light.
So get your party on and show Detroit we want to stay out later...or earlier.
