The Western Michigan's six game unbeaten ended abruptly Saturday night, as the Broncos lost the back end of the weekend doubleheader with Nebraska Omaha 6-3.

A tight series was expected as the Mavericks came in ranked 19th in the nation, while WMU just re-entered the rankings at number 20. After Friday night's close win, this game more of the same, but with Omaha prevailing.

Kevin Conley was the star of the game for Omaha, netting a hat trick and two assists for an impressive five point night. He opened the scoring for the Mavericks, after which an Ethan Frank goal tied it. Omaha eventually went up 3-1, only to see WMU tie the game again. But then Conley third goal of the night put Omaha up for good.

Western's record falls to (6-4-2,and 2-1-1-1 in the NCHC). The Broncos will fly to Colorado next weekend to take on Denver before the Thanksgiving holiday break.
