WMU has competed in the GLI six times and has won it three times, in 1986, 2013 and 2016.

Several members of the team that was the top regional seed in the NCAA tournament last week have signed contracts with NHL teams. BrandonBussi, Ronnie Attard, Drew Worrad and Ty Glover all signed pro deals.

Western Michigan University's Bronco Hockey team is already on a roll in 2022, currently ranking third in the country. And now comes news that former Bronco Frederik Tiffles will be representing his country, Germany, at the Olympics next week in China.

On Saturday, as the 6th seed, WMU will face third seed Minnesota-Duluth. UMD's season record isn't all that much better at 13-9-2, so if the Broncos come out flying, who knows what can happen.

The league has however announced that all games will be streamed free for fans.
