Air Zoo To Celebrate 75th Anniversary of D-Day
Kalamazoo's Air Zoo will be participating in remembrance ceremonies across the country and the world, as June 6th will be the 75th anniversary of the D-Day Invasion that led to the victory in Europe during World War II.
The Air Zoo's newest exhibit is "D-Day 75: En Route by Plane and Parachute" opens Thursday, May 30th.
"The Allied invasion of northern France on June 6, 1944—the largest seaborne invasion in world history—required air power and air defense for success. As America reflects on the 75th anniversary of D-Day this year, the Air Zoo presents an exhibition which explores the invasion through the lens of all things air..." - Air Zoo release
There will also be re-enactments on Friday, May 31st and Saturday, June 1st. And, during the weekend, visitors at the Air Zoo can do a meet and greet with the 101st Airborne re-enactment troop.
The Air Zoo is on Portage Road, just south of the Kalamazoo-Battle Creek International Airport.
