The City of Parchment and some areas of Cooper Township in Kalamazoo County have tested positive for what the State of Michigan has designated as unsafe levels of PFAS.
The City of Parchment, and Cooper Township is advising any resident on the City of Parchment’s water supply system to IMMEDIATELY stop using their water for drinking after high amounts of the chemical PFAS have been found in the water supply of City of Parchment.
Constructed in 1924 before Parchment was even an incorporated city, the Mosel Avenue Bridge, which spanned Riverview Drive and the Kalamazoo River, holds a special place in the memories of longtime residents in the Parchment community.
