Prince admirers and former collaborators, including Alicia Keys, John Legend and Morris Day and the Time will be in Los Angeles on Jan. 28 for Let’s Go Crazy: The Grammy Salute to Prince, an all-star concert.

Sheila E. has joined the project as the musical director, telling Rolling Stone, “I was very honored to be able to do this for so many reasons, but to be able to help celebrate the life of a dear friend and be a part of this and be musical director is awesome.”

Among the A-list names who will also be performing are Usher, Common, Foo Fighters, Chris Martin of Coldplay, Beck and St. Vincent. The Revolution, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, Mavis Staples and the Bangles' Susannah Hoffs are among those who've worked with Prince who are also slated to appear. The concert will take place at the Los Angeles Convention Center two nights after the Grammys, with the broadcast on an as-yet unknown date in April.

Producer Ken Erlich added that the Recording Academy has been wanting to do something special to honor Prince for a few years, but there was some concern about whether they could treat his catalog with the proper respect.

“Sometimes you worry about these things, he said, "because when an artist is so iconic, so individualistic and so unique, you get a little bit nervous about having people interpret their work. But I think, if anything, based on what we’ve done with these past shows, either we’ve gotten a little foolhardy to think that we could do Prince, or we’ve gotten confident that there are artists out there who fit; who will be faithful to what he did and reverent enough not to fuck around with him.”

The full set list is unknown, but Sheila E. confirmed that "The Glamorous Life" and "America" will be played. Erlich added that they will pull songs from various points in his career, including some more obscure tracks, and there will be "biographical segments" between the performances.
