Lovers Lane has caused some issues with drivers in the past. Currently, vehicles turning left onto streets or driveways along Lovers Lane have to come to a complete stop in the left driving lane during heavy traffic before turning, which can lead to rear-end crashes because of vehicles being unable to stop in time. Drivers also make the dangerous decision sometimes to swerve into the right lane to avoid being stopped behind a vehicle turning left.

A new $1.3 million project from East Centre Avenue to East Milham Avenue looks to fix those issues and include a realignment of the “reverse curve” north of Ramona Avenue, a reduction from two northbound lanes and two southbound lanes to a single lane in each direction with a dedicated center turn lane, while also adding bike lanes as well, according to MLive. Construction is expected to continue through mid-June. Things will definitely clear up there soon.
