It’s Starting. M-DOT Details Dickman Road Construction Plan
Summer construction plans for the 2020 season are becoming public. The Michigan Department of Transportation says they'll be conducting an open house to present the Dickman Road (I -94 Business Loop) construction project planned for Battle Creek and Springfield.
The open house is Monday, January 27th from 6p to 8p at the Battle Creek Department of Public Works, at 150 S. Kendall St., which is, coincidentally, where the construction will occur.
MDOT will be repaving I-94 BL from Helmer Road to I-194 and adding a right-turn lane from westbound Dickman Road to northbound Kendall Street to improve traffic flow at the intersection and Kendall Street railroad crossing. Construction is tentatively planned for May through August and will include daytime lane closures, as well as nighttime total closures with posted detours. - Michigan Department of Transportation release
This is quite a big project, and will be impacting daily communting and travel from west of downtown Battle Creek all the way to the Penetrator.
