Miss Washtenaw County Is Now Miss Michigan

Miss Michigan 2017, is going to give any other lady a run for her money at the Miss American Pageant

The competition was fierce, but with her sparkling open back gown, Heather Kendrick won the judges and the crowd over to take the title of Miss Michigan 2017. Mlive.com reported her first statement after winning...

"I'm Miss Michigan. That's the first time I've said that," Kendrick said during an interview before being announced for a reception in the ballroom at the Harbor Holiday Inn downtown Muskegon.

One of the best parts of the night was Heather Kendrick's performance of Lady Gaga's 'Bad Romance' on violin. So when her platform for the next year was announced it made perfect sense! Heather will be advocating for "Keeping the Arts in Education: Advocating STEAM. STEM stands for science, technology, engineering, arts and math.

As her road as Miss Michigan continues...

 Kendrick will receive $12,000 in scholarship money and will have the opportunity to take part in the Miss America Scholarship Pageant, which will take place in September in Atlantic City, N.J.
