On Monday April 11, the Fat Mike's official Facebook page announced their latest business venture: Fat Mike's Barbeque and Ice Cream. That's quite the delicious pairing!

Located at the former Lickity Split at 301 E Michigan Ave. in Augusta, you'll soon be able to satisfy your craving for delicious Texas-style barbeque and cleanse your palette with a sweet treat afterwards. That sounds like the best of both worlds, in my opinion.

The best part is you won't have to wait much longer as the new Fat Mike's Barbeque and Ice Cream is set to launch with a soft opening this Friday, April 15. The soft opening also coincides with Good Friday so if you're observing Lent you'll have to adjust your plans accordingly!

At this new brick and mortar window service location you'll find local brands like MOO-ville out of Nashville, MI, Plainwell Ice Cream, and a couple Hudsonville Ice Cream flavors available in addition to shaved ice and other tasty treats.

I always love and appreciate a good, local food truck and it's even more exciting to watch them grow and expand their footprint across West Michigan. We are fortunate enough to have an ever-growing food truck scene here in the Kalamazoo area including favorites like Turbo Chicken, The Lunchbox, and Zoo City BBQ.

Which is your favorite local food truck?
