An Indiana Mayor’s Nude Beach Prank

Hammond Indiana residents were not ready for this April Fools joke.

In order to boost tourism and self-esteem Mayor Thomas McDermott Jr decided to turn a popular park into a nude beach according to NBCChicago.com,

The plan included designating a section of the city’s Lakefront Park Beach along Lake Michigan at the Hammond Marina as “topless or clothes optional.” It also included adding activities like volleyball to that portion of the beach.

The city of Hammond let the April Fools Joke ride for several hours before letting their residents in on the joke.
