Michigan Lawmakers Want To Limit Days of Legal Fireworks
For a lame-duck session, there sure is a LOT going on.
Current Michigan law states that fireworks can legally be shot off by residents for 30 days per year, most of which surround holidays.
However, a bill was passed by the House of Representatives yesterday that would cut that number down to 12 and also change the time allotment from 1 AM til 11:30 PM.
State lawmakers say that they’ve heard from Michiganders who really don’t care for the exorbitant amount of fireworks that are shot off during the year, citing dogs as one of the reasons.
This isn’t the first time that they’ve tried to pass bills to change the fireworks laws. What do YOU think about it?
