Accused killer Jason Dalton won’t be going on trial next month as planned, after his lawyer filed an appeal of a recent judge’s ruling.   Dalton is accused of murdering six people and seriously wounding two others, including young Abigail Kopf of Battle Creek.

Dalton’s trial was scheduled to start on June 13th.  But Monday, according to a WOOD-TV report, Attorney Eusabio Solis asked the judge to delay the case.   They are challenging a recent ruling by Judge Alexander Lipsey that allowed statements Dalton made to police after the shootings to be used in evidence by the prosecution.   Now things could be delayed for several months while the Michigan Court of Appeals looks into the issue.
