Charlie Sheen is reportedly under criminal investigation by the LAPD Threat Management team, after police received a phone call of an undisclosed nature on March 31.

“Charlie Sheen is listed as a suspect in this investigation,” said an LAPD spokesperson via PEOPLE. “The victim’s information is kept confidential due to the investigation, and the investigation is ongoing at this time.”

While the police department has not identified the victim, USA Today reports the investigation stems from threats Sheen made against his former fiancee Scottine Rossi.

Lawyer David Ring confirmed that Sheen is allegedly being investigated for “threatening to have his client [Rossi] killed.”

Rossi first filed a lawsuit against Sheen in 2015, alleging he had not disclosed his HIV-positive status to her while they were dating. She also claimed Sheen threatened her, spoke about wishing “to murder people he was angry with” and put a hit on her ex-husband.

Martin D. Singer, a lawyer for Sheen, denied her allegations at the time, releasing a statement to PEOPLE that said, "Charlie Sheen intends to vigorously defend the lawsuit filed by Brett Rossi aka Scottine Rossi. Numerous witnesses will dispute each and every claim made by Ms. Rossi. We are confident that Mr. Sheen will prevail in this action and also will recover significant damages against her in connection with a pending arbitration that was commenced months ago."

Charlie Sheen first revealed his HIV-positive status last November after a National Enquirer story claimed he’d been keeping his status a secret from women he’d been intimate with for over a year-and-a-half.
