The Mickey Mouse club was a show that aired throughout 41 years, between 1955 to 1996, introducing us to future stars like Ryan Gosling, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, and future En Vogue member Rhona Bennett. Nick Carter was even selected to join the show at 12, however, he decided to join the developing boy band, Backstreet Boys. The show that aired in the 90's was known for its sketch comedy. Some of the sketches played off well-known movies, musicals, and even cartoons, as well as holiday-related skits. Now, someone at Western Michigan has decided to start their own kind of mickey mouse Club, dubbed Waltineers.

On r/Kzoo, they posted about their new virtual Walt Disney club and what can be expected by being a part of it:

Hey guys! My friend started up a (virtual) Disney club called Waltineers at Western. Its open to all students from anywhere, not just Western Michigan students! It’s about all things Disney! Each meeting consists of different kinds of activities like Disney trivia nights, game nights, discussions about hidden secrets inside Disney movies, Disney history and much more. Following the meeting there will be an outside the club movie shown where we will watch a Disney movie together.

Meetings take place on Thursday’s at 7:30 pm via zoom. The after the club movie for last week was Pinocchio. You can follow their Instagram@ Waltineers_at_western. Meetings are done through zoom and can be joined by following this link. There's been no word if they'll be hosting a Thanksgiving night event, but if not they'll pick up the same time the next Thursday.
