Six years of planning and effort all come together on Thursday, Sept. 18, as Western Michigan University celebrates the grand opening of the Homer Stryker School of Medicine.

The celebration starts at 4 p.m. at the W. J. Upjohn campus with the Bronco Marching Band, and the comments from dignitaries like President John Dunn and many others.

The Stryker Medical School welcomed its inaugural class of 54 students this fall, and the school's first white-coat ceremony for its students and invited guests is set for Wednesday, Sept. 17.
