Girls will try out classes in Automotive Technology, Computer Information Systems, Computer Technology, Construction, HVAC, Drafting, Electronics & Robotics and Law Enforcement. Last year, girls changed a tire and interacted with the bomb squad.

Last year, 400 girls in grades 8-11 attended the event.

In a release, event coordinator Diane Fort said, “Last year’s participants said the Non-Traditional Career Expo was motivating, and helped give girls the confidence to consider non-traditional careers,” Fort said. It also helps educate students about EFE programs and course offerings at KVCC.
