I Just Might Have To Check Out The Grammys

Normally I try to avoid awards show. How much phony, self-congratulation can anyone take? But sometimes, there are reasons to at least take a peek.

The Oscars this year will be worth a peek to see what kind of host Neil Patrick Harris is. And I noticed that Grammys are pairing legend Tony Bennett with Lady Gaga. They recorded an album "Cheek to Cheek" that been nominated for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album. What interests me is to see the younger artist who can keep up with the legends. Lady Gaga seems to have proved "her chops" with this album. I also love that Bennett has been able to, I don't know if the correct term is "stay relevant, but at least another generation of music consumers can know just how great he is.

The Grammys are February 8th on CBS.
