Additional Information

The Cinderella Project of Kalamazoo is seeking donations of gently worn plus-size prom gowns to provide to disadvantaged students.  Sponsored by Memories Bridal & Evening Wear in partnership with The Girls Scouts Heart of Michigan, The Cinderella Project is an annual event that provides free prom dresses and accessories to local high school girls who otherwise would not be able to afford to attend their own prom.

Now in its 8th year, The Cinderella Project of Kalamazoo is an open event in which any young lady in need is welcome to attend and receive a free prom dress.  In 2013, The Cinderella Project gave away over 160 free prom dresses to girls from more than 30 different schools.  According to Wissner, “the generosity of donations from the community has been remarkable, and it is what makes this event possible.”  However they are still in need of more dresses size 20 and up.  “It would break our heart to have to turn a girl away because we don’t have a dress in her size,” says Wissner.

Donations of gently worn dresses and accessories can by dropped off at

Memories Bridal & Evening Wear

203 E. Michigan Ave. in downtown Kalamazoo.

Donations are accepted year round.
