Additional Information

Battle Creek, Michigan – In March of 2015, Post Community Credit Union started a community-wide to help the Battle Creek Police Force to raise money for a new police dog. Later that month, a local addiction treatment program, A Forever Recovery, located at 216 St. Mary’s Lake road announced that they would join the Credit Union in their efforts. The facility pledged a $5,000.00 grant match.

Through bake sales and other community efforts the Credit Union has been able to raise nearly $3,000.00. Along with the grant match from A Forever Recovery, a total of $6,000.00 has been raised for the dog; who was named Ace.

A Penny For Your Dog

Just this week Post Community Credit Union and A Forever Recovery announced that they would join forces again; holding a fundraiser at the Credit Union located at 240 Cliff Street in Battle Creek, Michigan on Friday, August 14th 2015. The fundraiser will be called “A Penny For Your Dog.” The community is invited to visit the Credit Union between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. and bring any loose change to donate to the fundraiser. All proceeds will go to the Battle Creek Police Department for Ace.

Former Detroit Lions' All-Pro wide receiver Herman Moore will be on hand to sign autographs. Other former Lion’s players will also attend for autograph signing with names to be announced over the coming weeks.

And, the new police dog, Ace and his trainer Chad Fickle from the Battle Creek Police Department will be attending.
