10 Dogs Rescued In Anti-Dog Fighting Operation In Calhoun County
The Calhoun County Sheriff's Office says search warrants were executed Tuesday at three locations in the county, and at one home in Portage. At one home in Battle Creek, no dogs were found, but over a pound a marijuana was, so a 31-year-old man was arrested on drug charges.
Suspects Sought In Kalamazoo Armed Robbery
The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety says that around 10pm Saturday, three armed men entered the business on E. Cork St, where one struck the clerk and demanded him to the floor, as a second suspect took cash from the register.
Brief Chase In Kalamazoo Leads To Arrest Monday Morning
Police had initially been called to the area of the Fox Ridge Apartments on a report of someone threatening others with a handgun, and when they arrived they saw an individual fleeing the scene in a vehicle. The vehicle initially refused to stop for police, but after around a 20 minute chase the suspect did finally stop.
Portion Of I-94 To Be Named After Fallen Fire Chief In New Bill
On Thursday, Senator Margaret O’Brien of Portage introduced the bill, which would name 6 miles of I-94 between Sprinkle Rd. and Galesburg in honor of Switalski. In a release to her website, Sen. O’Brien says that renaming the highway will not only honor Chief Switalski’s contributions to the community, but it will also serve as a reminder to motorists to drive safe.
