According to a story in USA Today, the cast and crew of the show, including executive producers Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady (he's a Michigan guy), all the stars of the show, and the writers and staff, have contributed to set up "The Big Bang Theory Scholarship Endowment, which will provide financial aid to undergraduates in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) at UCLA.".

Lorre says the show, being based in the science community, has received enthusiastic support from that community, and this is a chance to give back. Mayim Bialik (Amy-Farrah Fowler) has a Ph. D. in neuroscience from UCLA.
